About Us

We opened our doors to the public in April 2019, but our story really began a few months earlier, when Caroline learned that Learning Express of Collegeville was closing in January of that year. It was a store our family had loved for years and one we visited often when our kids were younger. At the time, it was owned by a wonderful woman named Donna Flick, whom our kids affectionately called “Aunt Donna.”

With complementary skill sets and a shared passion for small business, Caroline and I felt confident we could carry on that spirit and build something special of our own. We wanted to create a welcoming environment that families would love, learn everything there is to know about the toy business, and add our own personal touch. Just as important, we looked forward to giving back to the community through special events and fundraisers. We were excited to curate the very best toys that inspire creativity, spark learning, and bring joy to kids and their families.

After making it through our first busy holiday season, we welcomed the slower pace that January and February typically bring to the toy business. Little did we know how quickly things would change in 2020.

As the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic set in during March, we were forced to pivot almost overnight. With customers no longer able to enter the store, we adapted by using Square to accept payments and by offering curbside pickup and local delivery. The response from our customers was nothing short of incredible.

The website you are visiting now was built quickly in late March and early April of 2020. During that time, you, our customers, purchased a record-breaking number of puzzles, sticker books, and other products that helped keep quarantined families engaged and entertained. While it was a challenging and uncertain period for everyone, your support gave us the confidence to keep moving forward.

Thanks to that overwhelming encouragement from our community, we made the decision to open our second location in October 2020 in Blue Bell, PA. It was a milestone we never would have reached without the trust, loyalty, and kindness of our customers.
